POSITION OVERVIEW AND DUTIES
The Clinical Laboratory Specialist is responsible for conducting precise laboratory analyses on specimens, facilitating the physician's diagnostic and therapeutic processes. This includes distinguishing between closely related items and making corrections based on established protocols. The specialist will perform routine maintenance on laboratory instruments and identify any unusual results or abnormalities, taking immediate and appropriate measures to ensure the integrity and accuracy of test outcomes. In instances where guidelines are not clearly defined, the specialist will promptly inform the supervisor or section leader. Upholding patient confidentiality and privacy is paramount, and the specialist is expected to maintain a professional demeanor while executing assigned tasks efficiently and accurately.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

A minimum of an Associate's degree in chemical, physical, or biological sciences, or medical laboratory technology OR

A high school diploma or equivalent, coupled with successful completion of military training lasting 50 weeks or more, serving as a medical laboratory specialist.
