Job Title: Laboratory Technician

ICON Clinical Research is seeking a skilled Laboratory Technician to join our team. As a Laboratory Technician, you will play a crucial role in assisting in the day-to-day activities of the analytical laboratory, performing assays on samples for pharmaceutical and chemical companies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform and report routine and special laboratory tests on clinical trial specimens to aid in subject safety and in accordance with protocol requirements.
  • Detect abnormalities as indicated in protocol.
  • Perform specimen processing and testing independently, including waived and moderate complexity testing, and analyze test results for accuracy.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation and equipment, and make minor repairs as necessary.
  • Understand, perform, and practice quality control management, including running controls, evaluating data, documenting data, and taking corrective action as required.
  • Cross-train to other laboratory sections as needed.
  • Calculate, enter, and/or verify results of laboratory procedures.
  • Utilize the Laboratory Information System and eSource system.
  • Provide notification and documentation of critical laboratory values obtained to the Principal Investigator.
  • Participate in the evaluation, development, and implementation of new or updated testing procedures and protocols.
  • Demonstrate competence to perform laboratory testing.
  • Demonstrate adherence to ICON's Own It Values based on Integrity, Inclusion, Agility, and Collaboration.
  • Complete all required compliance and regulatory tasks and follow all applicable policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science.
  • Clinical Lab Scientist license as required by state (ASCP, AMT, etc.).
  • Minimum 2 years related experience.
