Control Room Operator

We are seeking a highly skilled Control Room Operator to join our team at Covanta. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient daily operation of our Mass Burn Energy from Waste boilers and turbine-generator system.
Key Responsibilities- Direct daily operational activities of all shift personnel, including Turbine Operators, Auxiliary Operators, and Heavy Equipment Operators.
- Monitor and control operating parameters from the distributed control system, making adjustments as necessary to maintain system performance.
- Perform daily routine inspections of the distributed control system, continuous emissions monitoring system, and other critical equipment.
- Assist the Shift Supervisor in the preparation of equipment lockouts and tag-outs.
- 5 years of experience in power plant or related industry as CRO or Assistant CRO or equivalent.
- ASME/QRO provisionally certified or ability to become certified within 6 months of hire.
- Completion of at least one year's experience as a Turbine Operator or related outside experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Thorough knowledge of boiler operation, combustion theory, and emissions monitoring.

5 shifts on, 2 shifts off, 2 shifts on, 5 shifts off, rotating 12-hour days/nights.
