Control Room Operator

We are seeking a highly skilled Control Room Operator to join our team at Covanta. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our Mass Burn Energy from Waste boilers and turbine-generator system.
Responsibilities:- Place into service or remove from service boiler-turbine-generator systems and related auxiliary equipment.
- Start, stop, parallel, separate, load, and unload the turbine-generator unit and adjust voltage on the generator to maintain power factor.
- Monitor various plant parameters, make changes, and direct operators as necessary to maintain the systems within specified limits.
- Record all equipment changes and any abnormal or unusual conditions that may exist on any piece of assigned equipment.
- Perform daily routine inspections of the distributed control system, the continuous emissions monitoring system, and other critical systems.
- 5 years of experience in power plant or related industry as CRO or Assistant CRO or equivalent.
- ASME/QRO provisionally certified or able to become certified within 6 months of hire.
- Completion of at least one year's experience as a Turbine Operator or related outside experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
