We are seeking a highly skilled Physician to join our team at the Phoenix Indian Medical Center. As a Staff Physician, you will provide comprehensive direct care and consultation services in your specialty to our patients.
Responsibilities- Provide direct care and consultation services in your specialty to patients
- Participate in planning, instituting, evaluating, and revising medical program plans
- Interview and examine patients, review past medical history, and request and/or perform diagnostic tests and examinations
- Make preliminary diagnoses, direct, prescribe, and provide treatment
- Make progress notes of observations to be incorporated into clinical records
- Must pass pre-employment examination
- Selectee may be subject to a probationary period
- U.S. Citizenship is required
- Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959
- Measles and Rubella immunization required for selectees born after 1957 and seasonal influenza immunization is required for all staff working in Indian Health Service health care facilities
- Selected individual is required to obtain and maintain medical staff clinical privileges, including any licensure requirements
- Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine or equivalent from a school in the United States or Canada
- Current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States
- At least one (1) year of supervised experience providing direct service in a clinical setting
This is a competitive position and selection will be based on the qualifications and experience of the applicants. The selected individual will be required to undergo a pre-employment fingerprint check and background investigation. The position is covered by a Bargaining Unit and may be eligible for recruitment or relocation incentives and/or Permanent Change of Station. The Indian Health Service (IHS), National Health Service Corps (NHSC), and the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) have student loan repayment programs for qualifying health disciplines. This is a competitive process separate from the hiring process.
