Position Overview:

Jean-Claude Boisset Wines is seeking a skilled and motivated Supply Chain Specialist to become a vital part of our expanding wine brand.

This role is essential within a compact team, focusing on the logistics of wine distribution and inventory oversight across various bottling sites and storage facilities.

Exceptional communication abilities and meticulous attention to detail are crucial for success in this position. This role carries significant responsibilities and reports directly to the Winemaker.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Winemaking Team with all associated tasks, including but not limited to coordinating trucking logistics for bulk deliveries, blends, and bottling processes across different facilities. Assist in reconciling Bills of Lading for shipments.
  • Monitor additive inventory at custom bottling locations. Generate purchase orders and arrange the shipping of additives to respective sites in preparation for bottling. Occasional inter-facility additive pick-up and drop-offs. Maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
  • Assist in gathering bulk samples from multiple facilities and solicit samples for bulk wine tastings. Help organize and manage the bulk sample inventory/library.
  • Utilize InnoVint wine tracking software as necessary. Potential for data entry related to wine transactions based on experience.
  • Approve purchase orders as required.
  • Possible harvest duties include ordering and delivering supplies as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all COVID Safety Protocols established by Jean-Claude Boisset Wines, adapting to changes as necessary.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies, practices, and procedures. Engage in safety training and report any unsafe conditions or practices.
  • Contribute to team efforts and perform additional tasks as required.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience in inventory management is highly preferred.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • A proactive and accountable approach to projects.
  • Self-motivated and efficient, with strong clerical abilities.
  • Capable of effectively communicating with clients.

  • Proven capability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal instructions, with a self-directed, quick-learning, and team-oriented mindset.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Essential Skills:

Language:
Proficiency in basic English is required for all positions.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as memos, instructions, policies, and manuals. Capability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information to groups of customers and/or employees, and participate in one-on-one and small group discussions. Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude are advantageous.

Mathematics:

  • Ability to accurately perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using standard American units of currency, weight, volume, and/or distance. Ability to identify and correct inaccuracies when using a calculator or computer spreadsheet. Ability to calculate items such as discounts, commissions, simple interest, percentages, areas, circumference, and volume.

Logic:

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to various tasks and responsibilities. Ability to adapt to minor changes in routine, solve basic problems, and work with moderate supervision. A self-starter with exceptional organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.

Computer Skills:

  • Strong computer skills, including email, internet, word processing, spreadsheet, and basic database activities. Familiarity with wine tracking software is not mandatory but is highly valued.

Education, Experience, Certifications, Licenses:

  • Associate's Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a 2-year college or technical school; or 2-4 years of related experience or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A current, valid Driver's License, insurable driving record, and proof of current automobile insurance are required.

Physical Requirements:
Light to moderate physical activity involving non-strenuous daily tasks of an administrative nature. Manual dexterity sufficient to reach, handle items, and work with the fingers. May require lifting and moving objects weighing up to 40 lbs. Clear vision, both near and far, and the ability to adjust focus. Hearing adequate for telephone and office-level conversations.

Work Environment:
A combination of indoor and outdoor settings with variable lighting, temperature, and ventilation. Areas may or may not be heated, air-conditioned, or shaded. Outdoor periods are frequently required in changing weather conditions. Exposure to fumes and/or various chemicals. Moderate to high noise levels typical of machinery, power tools, vehicles, and other equipment.

Schedule and Travel Requirements:

Regular business schedule:
Monday through Friday. Overtime as needed and with approval.

  • Local travel required as necessary.
  • This position does not typically require overnight travel.
