We are seeking a skilled Property Claims Adjuster to join our team at American Family Mutual Insurance Company. As a key member of our claims team, you will be responsible for handling homeowner property field claims in the Western New York area.
Key Responsibilities- Investigate the origin and cause of claims by contacting insureds, claimants, agents, attorneys, and other relevant parties.
- Identify complex issues and provide assistance as needed, handling claims on a good faith basis.
- Handle both 1st party and 3rd party claims under multiple policy types and endorsements.
- Conduct on-site inspections, evaluate damages, and negotiate claim settlements with insureds, claimants, and attorneys.
- Respond to customer inquiries, make decisions, and close files as needed.
- Demonstrated experience handling 1st and 3rd party, multi-line claims across operating territories.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required.
- State-specific property casualty claims licensing required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities.
- Familiarity with Xactimate software.
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time, with occasional catastrophe duty.
