Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) ICU - Intensive Care Unit

Mass General Brigham is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and contribute to the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care.

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) ICU will be responsible for providing direct and indirect patient care to critically ill patients in the ICU. This includes assessing patient needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless care delivery.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients in the ICU, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans that address the unique needs of each patient.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure accurate and timely information exchange.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
Requirements:
  • Current MA RN license required.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years critical care nursing experience preferred.
  • BLS required; ACLS preferred.
Working Conditions:

The RN works in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous materials. Caring for patients also involves exposure to human waste and other unpleasant elements. Other duties may include general cleaning with exposure to dirt, odors, cramped quarters, etc.

Physical Standards of Job Description:
  • Constantly – 75% or more of the worker's time is spent in the activity.
  • Frequently – 25% to 75% or more of the worker's time is spent in this activity.
  • Occasionally – 5% to 25% or more of the worker's time is spent in this activity.
  • Rarely – under 5% or more of the worker's time is spent in the activity.

Physical demands include walking, standing, sitting, reaching, and lifting. Sensory requirements include visual and auditory activities.
