Job Description

Planate Management Group, a leading provider of program management and facilities engineering services, is seeking a highly skilled Structural Seismic Engineer to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct seismic risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for structures in earthquake-prone areas worldwide.
  • Design and review structural plans to ensure compliance with seismic safety standards and building codes.
  • Perform material testing and structural calculations to determine the damage resistance of various materials during seismic events.
  • Develop and implement independent work plans, requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application, and adaptation of engineering techniques and procedures.
  • Prepare and modify drawings, specifications, calculations, charts, and graphs to support project objectives and standards.
  • Provide design services, including preparation of design drawings, structural evaluations, and designs.
  • Follow and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for design review and project mobilization.
  • Comply with health, safety, and environmental rules and procedures, and perform work in a manner that enhances the safety of the work environment.
  • Perform construction management duties, including reviewing construction documents and submittals, performing and documenting daily inspections, and assisting with project punch lists.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Must be a Professional Engineer.
  • Successfully passed the Civil Seismic Principles exam or has a Seismic Certification.
  • Minimum of 10 years of design experience gained from the engineering/construction management industry.
  • Previous experience working on US Government and military domestic and international projects preferred.
  • Familiarity with military programming rules and documentation, advantageous.
  • Thorough knowledge of civil design and engineering techniques.
  • Proficient in creating designs using AutoCAD, Revit, and the use of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent communication, effective leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be willing to travel for occasional international assignments.
  • Able to obtain Secret Clearance.
  • Must lawfully reside in the United States and be eligible for employment.
