Position Overview:

The Financial Analyst III role at CommonSpirit Health is pivotal in bridging the gap between business operations and financial management. The primary objective is to deliver comprehensive analysis and evaluation of financial data, ensuring that the organization’s financial health is maintained and enhanced.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as an internal consultant, collaborating with various stakeholders to identify business needs and translate them into actionable financial insights.
- Conduct thorough quality checks to ensure the integrity of financial reports, dashboards, and data extracts.
- Identify and rectify data anomalies in collaboration with finance and business teams, providing accurate and actionable information.
- Support ongoing financial analysis for various markets within CommonSpirit Health, determining business requirements and reviewing system capabilities.
- Analyze product performance and troubleshoot any issues that arise, ensuring seamless operations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5-7 years of relevant experience in financial analysis or business analysis, with a strong understanding of finance systems and processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Computer Science, Mathematics, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Visio.
- Experience with relational database management systems such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, or MySQL.
- Strong communication skills, capable of presenting complex concepts and analyses to senior management clearly and concisely.
- Knowledge of data governance, data modeling, and financial modeling techniques.
- Ability to analyze data, assess market needs, and make informed recommendations.
- Experience in documenting performance metrics and presenting findings to various levels of staff.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Incurred but Not Reported (IBNR) concepts in a claims or health plan environment.
- Previous experience in Health Economics Analytics or Risk Pool Auditing.
- Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau.
- MBA or Master’s Degree in a relevant field.
- Experience with statistical tools such as R, MATLAB, SPSS, SAS, or similar.
- Familiarity with ETL systems like PowerBI or Alteryx.
