The Role
In the capacity of Finance Operations Manager within the Capital Markets division, you will oversee the management and execution of the Secondary Marketing function, reporting directly to the VP of Capital Markets while maintaining a functional relationship with the Director of Lock Desk & Pricing. Your role will involve collaborating with business units to ensure the availability of funding products that support our mortgage operations, as well as engaging with investors to craft loan programs that enhance our competitive positioning. On a daily basis, you will supervise all Secondary Marketing activities and provide guidance to the Secondary Marketing Analyst as required.
Key Responsibilities
As the Finance Operations Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Executing secondary market sales to investors.
- Cultivating new investor relationships and developing innovative programs.
- Managing the renewal, updates, and initiation of accounts with investors and aggregators.
- Monitoring secondary market conditions and addressing compliance and technology challenges as they arise.
- Staying informed about trends in mortgage lending and market dynamics impacting mortgage origination and secondary market transactions.
- Supporting the mortgage pricing strategy and supplying market insights to leadership for budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
- Ensuring compliance with all federal and state regulations, as well as established Bank policies and procedures, including internal audit controls related to departmental operations.
- Working independently and efficiently to resolve issues as they occur.
- Collaborating closely with the Head of Mortgage, Director of Lock Desk & Pricing, and all relevant internal and external departments, groups, and vendors.
- Conducting quarterly evaluations of MSR values.
- Compiling and organizing monthly and ad hoc reports as needed.
- Performing additional duties as assigned.
- Acting as a key internal partner to the FP&A, Accounting, Treasury, Corporate Investor Relations, Legal, and Line of Business teams.
Qualifications
- Interest in the FinTech sector and/or Banking, Finance, and Accounting.
- Bachelor's or Master's/MBA degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mortgage capital markets, secondary marketing, or lock desk roles.
- Comprehensive understanding of the financial industry, regulatory environment, and debt capital market/structured finance landscape.
- Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to serve as a role model and collaborate effectively within a team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in G-suite and/or Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Google Sheets) and adeptness in handling large data sets. Knowledge of MS Excel VBA macros is preferred.
