Job Overview:

As a Nighttime Facilities Maintenance Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to ensure that all school facilities are maintained in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interior Cleaning: Maintain cleanliness in hallways, restrooms, offices, classrooms, multi-purpose rooms, and any other designated areas.
  • Exterior Maintenance: Oversee the cleanliness of the school building's perimeter, parking lot, playground, windows, and additional areas as assigned.
  • Waste Management: Regularly empty trash from all receptacles and ensure proper disposal of waste.
  • Sanitation Duties: Dust surfaces, clean window sills, air vents, and sterilize restroom facilities to uphold hygiene standards.
  • Emergency Response: Be prepared to clean up bodily fluids in accordance with established safety protocols.
  • Cafeteria Support: Assist in removing waste during breakfast and lunch, clean cafeteria tables, and maintain acceptable cleanliness of cafeteria floors.
  • High-Traffic Area Sterilization: Regularly disinfect high-use areas to minimize the spread of germs and harmful agents.
  • Collaboration: Work alongside the Head Custodian on special cleaning projects and tasks.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Contribute to the development and implementation of preventative maintenance processes to extend the life of facility components.
  • Training Participation: Engage in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge related to custodial responsibilities.
  • Compliance: Adhere to OSHA regulations and safety procedures at all times.

Accountability:
The effectiveness of your performance will be evaluated annually by the Director of Projects Facilities in collaboration with school administration and the maintenance coordinator.

Requirements:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent, with additional education in construction or facilities management preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of one year in a janitorial or custodial role.
  • Qualifications: Must possess the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to fulfill job responsibilities effectively.
