Job Description

Calabasas Surgery Center is seeking a skilled Per-Diem Surgical Technologist to join our team in the Operating Room. As a key member of our surgical team, you will be responsible for ensuring the surgical room is sterile and safe for patients.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the surgical room is sterile and safe for patients.
  • Work side by side with scrub techs to maintain the sterile field in the operating room.
  • Prepare patients for procedures and handle preparation for the operating room before surgery takes place.
  • Assess patients' conditions before and during surgical procedures.
  • Work with physicians to develop care plans for patients during surgery.
  • Continuously evaluate patients' conditions during procedures and make changes to care plans as necessary.
  • Ensure the sterile field is not compromised during procedures.
  • Keep the surgical area clean and organized for scrub nurses and physicians.
  • Remove instruments and sponges as they are used during procedures.
  • Supervise surgical technicians and transport specimens to the laboratory as needed.
Requirements:
  • Current California Registered Nursing License.
  • ACLS and BLS certification.
  • 3 years of recent OR experience in a multi-specialty hospital or surgical center.
