Job Title: STI/HIV/VH Public Health Detailer

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Public Health Detailer to join our team at the State of Colorado. As a Public Health Detailer, you will play a critical role in promoting STI/HIV/VH prevention and control strategies in healthcare settings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide educational updates to clinical providers on STI/HIV/VH prevention and treatment guidelines.
  • Conduct outreach and deliver targeted public health messages to multidisciplinary teams of healthcare professionals.
  • Develop and implement educational materials, including epidemiologic updates for providers.
  • Collaborate with the Training Unit to provide expert review of clinical materials.
  • Work interactively with the Laboratory Surveillance and outbreak response staffs to contribute to the creation and dissemination of advisory bulletins and public health responses.
Requirements:
  • Three (3) years of professional experience in nursing, providing nursing/clinical education, nursing care management, community health, providing clinical care coordination, implementing immunization strategies or an occupational field related to the work assigned to the position.
  • Current, valid licensure as a Registered Nurse from the Colorado Board of Nursing or any state participating in the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
  • Master's degree from an accredited institution in Nursing, Public Health, Epidemiology, Biology, Community Health, or a field of study related to the work assignment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Relevant experience with the State of Colorado preferably in public health sector.
  • At least two years of experience in clinical practice, education, management or research related to sexually transmitted infections (STI) and HIV/AIDS.
  • Understanding of barriers to healthcare access and the stigma associated with STI and HIV/AIDS.
  • Understanding of socio-behavioral and cultural determinants of STI, HIV and viral hepatitis.
  • Knowledge of biomedical interventions to prevent STIs and HIV and viral hepatitis.
Working Conditions:
  • This position requires Critical Status: As a condition of employment, candidates must be willing to be available in the event of an emergency, (e.g., bio-terrorist attack, chemical attack, disease outbreak or all hazards) and be required to report to work immediately at the regular or alternate location. During this time, travel restrictions may be in place.
