Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in an outpatient specialty setting, maintaining advanced knowledge of diagnoses, medications, and treatment options specific to the specialty.
  • Serve as a primary contact for patient/family members, performing phone triage effectively and involving physicians when needed.
  • Triage current patient population and incoming referrals, prioritizing scheduling of office visits and testing with physician input as needed.
  • Assist with in-office procedures, providing comfort and safety measures for patients before, during, and after the procedure.
  • Identify learning needs of patients/family members and work with team members and community resources to ensure objectives are met.
  • Assume responsibility for patient safety by maintaining a safe environment and completing environmental rounds, enforcing patient care standards.
  • Champion the development and implementation of the orientation program to specialty, ensuring new staff are educated and prepared to give safe, effective care.
  • Work with team members to plan, develop, and implement educational programs and seminars in the community and within Prisma Health.
  • Evaluate own nursing practice in relation to professional practice standards, guidelines, state statues, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations, and current specific knowledge.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing
  • 1 year of clinical nursing experience within the specialty
  • RN - Registered Nurse certification
  • Certification in specialty area preferred
