School Monitor Position

Under direct supervision, the School Monitor will be responsible for monitoring student behavior and safety while on school grounds. This includes ensuring appropriate behavior and safety during lunch periods and recess, both indoors and outdoors, according to established guidelines.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor student activities during lunch periods and recess to ensure appropriate behavior and safety.
- Direct students in the proper use of school equipment and facilities.
- Prevent and/or intervene in student arguments/fights.
- Intercept unfamiliar personnel on school grounds and request identification.
- Assist instructors in providing first aid to students and/or accompany injured students to the school nurse.
- Perform basic clerical and/or support duties, including providing library or office assistance.
The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma and a valid Alaska Driver's License. Previous education, training, work, or life experience that provides reasonable evidence of the successful performance of the various tasks listed is also desirable.
Physical RequirementsThis role requires Light Work, exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
