Job Summary

As a Lead X-Ray Technologist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest quality diagnostic imaging procedures are performed in a timely and efficient manner. This position requires strong leadership skills, as you will supervise a team of X-Ray Technologists and provide guidance on radiographic imaging procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Interview, hire, and train all x-ray staff to ensure they possess the necessary skills and knowledge to perform diagnostic imaging procedures.
  • Greet patients and explain procedures in a compassionate and clear manner, ensuring they understand what to expect during the imaging process.
  • Position patients appropriately for diagnostic imaging procedures, taking into account their comfort and safety.
  • Practice ALARA radiation protection techniques to minimize exposure to patients and staff.
  • Maintain a neat and clean working environment, ensuring all supplies are ordered and stocked in a timely manner.
  • Process images, review for proper identification and quality control, and prepare images for reading by a physician and radiologist overreads.
  • Utilize both digital and non-digital diagnostic imaging equipment, ensuring compliance with approved radiology techniques and all policies and procedures.
  • Aid physicians with prescribed patient treatments in accordance with approved standards, policies, procedures, and protocol as necessary.
  • Perform routine maintenance, diagnose malfunctions, and make minor repairs on equipment, arranging for repairs as needed.
  • Will cross-train in other roles as appropriate, including medical assisting and reception.
Qualifications

This position requires an Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or six months to one-year related experience and/or training. ARRT-registered or board eligible is preferred. Licensed per state regulation. In some states, Medical Assistant Certification or registry, Practical Nursing License, EMT, or Paramedic certification is acceptable.
