Key Responsibilities:
- Install and Maintain Fiber Optic Networks: Install, splice, terminate, and test fiber optic cables and connections in both indoor and outdoor environments.
- Troubleshoot and Repair Fiber Optic Networks: Perform troubleshooting and repairs on fiber optic networks to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
- Conduct Fiber Optic Network Maintenance: Conduct fiber optic network maintenance, including cleaning, inspection, and documentation.
- Collaborate with Team Members: Collaborate with team members to complete projects and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Coordinate with Customers and Stakeholders: Coordinate with customers and internal stakeholders to schedule installations and service appointments.
- Adhere to Safety Protocols: Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Provide Accurate Documentation: Provide accurate and detailed documentation of work completed, materials used, and customer interactions.
Requirements:
- Previous Experience: Previous experience working for a telecom provider or in a related field.
- Fiber Optic Technologies: In-depth knowledge of fiber optic technologies, including Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) installations.
- Splicing and Terminating: Proficiency in splicing, terminating, and testing fiber optic cables and connectors.
- Troubleshooting and Analysis: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues in fiber optic networks.
- OTDR Testing and Analysis: Familiarity with optical time-domain reflectometer (OTDR) testing and analysis.
- Communication and Customer Service: Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Valid Driver's License: Valid driver's license and a reliable work truck (to be provided by the applicant).
- Physical Ability: Physical ability to perform duties such as lifting heavy objects and working in various weather conditions.
