Role Summary

This is a full-time on-site position for a Surgical Dental Assistant in our Durham location. The successful candidate will assist dentists in surgical procedures, provide patient care and support, ensure infection control protocols are followed, and assist in general dentistry procedures.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist dentists in surgical procedures, including preparing patients, sterilizing equipment, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Provide patient care and support, including taking vital signs, preparing patients for procedures, and providing post-procedure care.
  • Ensure infection control protocols are followed, including proper use of personal protective equipment and adherence to sterilization procedures.
  • Assist in general dentistry procedures, including taking X-rays, preparing patients for exams, and assisting with dental procedures.
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of dental terminology and procedures, including implantology, periodontics, and cosmetic dentistry.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, dentists, and other team members to ensure seamless care and support.
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient care and treatment, including medical histories, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
