$55,000 – $70,000

Role Overview:

The Financial Grants Specialist will serve as the main support to the Grants & Contracts Manager, directly reporting to them while working closely in a streamlined department. This position offers a unique chance for a finance professional to engage in month-end financial activities. The perfect candidate will have hands-on experience with month-end processes, familiarity with funding agencies, and proficiency in preparing financial entries.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate the processing, documentation, and creation of billing invoices for payments.
  • Oversee collections and monitor aging reports.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of contract and grant stipulations to ensure adherence to guidelines, regulations, and billing requirements.
  • Assist in developing spreadsheets, schedules, and other necessary documentation to meet deadlines.
  • Support the preparation of monthly progress reports for contracts, ensuring timely submission of reports and invoices, including quarterly financial reporting.
  • Aid in tracking contract expenditures to guarantee optimal use of funds and proper allocation of all expenses.
  • Organize and maintain all billing documentation, reports, and files, including original contracts, correspondence related to billing, amendments, and payment schedules.
  • Provide assistance to the Accounting department as needed.
  • Contribute to special projects and additional tasks as required.
Required Qualifications:
  • At least two (2) years of experience in billing and/or contract management within a non-profit setting and/or with contracts from the Department of Education and/or Department of Labor is strongly preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks and responding effectively to unexpected changes and high-pressure situations.
Educational Background:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics is mandatory.
