About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Charge Nurse to join our team at Fresenius Medical Care North America. As a Charge Nurse, you will play a critical role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care while maintaining cost-effective clinical operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day guidance, support, and direction to direct patient care staff, ensuring continuity of care and maintaining patient and staff safety.
  • Participate in department staffing and make recommendations for hiring, firing, and disciplinary actions.
  • Ensure compliance with all company and facility-approved procedures and policies, as well as regulations set forth by state and federal agencies.
  • Approve or disapprove time or personnel schedule changes, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Participate in patient care plan meetings and maintain knowledge of current practices related to dialysis principles and techniques.
  • Train and orient staff as necessary, promoting efficient use of medical supplies and maintaining a safe and clean working environment.
  • Assume primary responsibility in emergency situations, assessing patient needs and responding to dialysis treatments.
  • Collaborate with direct patient care team members to make decisions that benefit patient care, continuously monitoring patient conditions and implementing changes as directed.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing (R.N.)
  • Registered and licensed to practice in the applicable State
  • Minimum of 12 months of nursing experience, plus 6 months of specialized experience providing clinical nursing care to dialysis patients
  • Medical/surgical nursing preferred, with supervisory or management experience also preferred
  • Certified in CPR or successfully complete course in CPR certification
  • Good communication skills - verbal and written
