Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Coding Supervisor to join our team at UNC Health Care. As a key member of our Physician Rev Cycle Coding department, you will be responsible for supervising a team of medical coders and ensuring the accuracy and quality of coding and compliance processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and manage a team of medical coders, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality coding and compliance.
  • Develop and implement coding and compliance policies and procedures to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of coding and compliance processes.
  • Monitor and analyze coding and compliance data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Provide training and education to coding staff on coding and compliance best practices.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in medical coding and compliance, with at least 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of ICD-10/PCS/CPT/HCPCS coding and billing compliance.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to effectively communicate with staff and stakeholders.
