Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team at PACS Inc. As an Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our occupational therapists in delivering exceptional services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Treat patients as directed by the occupational therapist, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Record daily treatment notes and weekly progress notes, adhering to the Occupational Therapy Board's guidelines and state practice act requirements.
  • Assist the nursing department with training and education of restorative aides, promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, health team members, and patients' families regarding progress, problems, and plans.
  • Participate in in-service training programs, sharing knowledge and expertise with colleagues to enhance the quality of care.
  • Record evaluations, daily treatment notes, weekly progress notes, and recertification documentation, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Assist with cleaning and maintenance of treatment areas, maintaining a safe and healthy environment for patients and staff.
  • Report any equipment issues or concerns to ensure prompt maintenance and resolution.
Requirements
  • Licensure as a Staff Occupational Therapy Assistant, issued by the state's Board of Occupational Therapy.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including data entry into programs like Casamba and Point Click Care.
  • Ability to read and comprehend technical procedures, policy manuals, and other written materials.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present information and respond to questions from various stakeholders.
  • Mathematical skills, including the ability to apply concepts like fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Reasoning ability, with the capacity to solve practical problems and interpret instructions in various formats.
Working Conditions

The occupational therapy assistant will work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent standing, walking, and reaching. The ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and up to 50 pounds of force frequently, is required. The work environment is generally quiet to moderate, with occasional exposure to noise.
