About the Role:
The Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS)/Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) is a vital member of our laboratory team, responsible for performing, evaluating, and correlating test procedures. This role requires a strong understanding of laboratory techniques and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform and evaluate test procedures to ensure accurate and reliable results
- Assist in the selection and evaluation of test methods
- Participate in the education and professional development of laboratory personnel
- Perform routine administrative and non-routine technical functions
Requirements:
- 2-year Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) or
- 4-year Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or
- Meets one of the eligibility requirements for certification as an MLT or MLS through the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP)
Work Schedule:
The laboratory is staffed 24/7, with personnel assigned to work mostly one shift or a rotational schedule consisting of day, evening, and night shifts. Rotational coverage of holidays is expected, and overtime and additional weekends may be required during times of staffing shortages or emergencies.
