- Hospital Admissions and Consultations: Evaluate and treat patients in the hospital setting, providing expert care and guidance.
- Inpatient Rounds: Conduct regular rounds to assess patient progress, provide updates, and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans.
- Comprehensive Evaluation and Treatment: Conduct thorough evaluations and provide treatment for a wide range of orthopedic injuries and conditions.
- Orders and Interprets Test/Lab Studies: Order and interpret various tests and lab studies, including X-rays, MRIs, and blood tests, to inform treatment decisions.
- Consults with Physicians: Collaborate with physicians to discuss patient cases, provide expert opinions, and refer patients to specialists when necessary.
- Therapeutic Treatments: Provide various therapeutic treatments, including oral medications, corticosteroid injections, and physical therapy referrals.
- Minor Office/Emergency Room Procedures: Perform minor procedures, such as fracture closed reduction and laceration repair, in the office or emergency room setting.
- Patient Education and Instructions: Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, medications, and post-operative care.
- Confidentiality and Documentation: Maintain patient confidentiality and accurately document patient encounters according to state and federal guidelines.
- Graduate of Accredited Physician Assistant Institution: Possess a degree from an accredited physician assistant program.
- Certification through NCCPA: Hold certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
- Valid Rhode Island License: Possess a valid license to practice as a physician assistant in Rhode Island.
- Experience with Microsoft Office: Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- EMR Software Proficiency: Experienced in using electronic medical record (EMR) software.
- Surgery Skills: Possess strong surgical skills and knowledge.
- Communication Proficiency: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Skilled Multi-tasker: Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Attention to Detail: Maintain high levels of accuracy and attention to detail in patient care and documentation.
- Mobility and Physical Activity: Requires mobility, frequent walking, standing, and sitting, with some bending, stooping, and stretching.
- Visual and Auditory Requirements: Requires normal (corrected) vision and the ability to converse and hear.
- Coordination and Manual Dexterity: Possess coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate office equipment.
