The Manufacturing Process Technician is responsible for operating and maintaining machinery and equipment involved in the assembly, inspection, testing, repair, and packaging of electrical breakers. This position requires a systematic approach to multiple tasks, which are rotated among team members throughout the shift. Typical rotation increments are between two to four hours. The main responsibilities include operating machinery, manual assembly on the production line, and packaging finished products into containers.
- The primary objective of this role is to manage and operate both automated and semi-automated manufacturing equipment.
- Certification at various skill levels is necessary to qualify for each task within the rotation.
- The technician will operate one or more machines and manage product flow in a fast-paced environment for the majority of their assigned tasks.
- The work schedule consists of a standard 40-hour week, with the possibility of overtime based on production demands.
- Occasionally, line interruptions may require a faster work pace to alleviate bottlenecks and achieve production goals.
- A GED or High School diploma is mandatory.
- Capability to meet production standards while ensuring quality of parts.
- Proficiency in using measuring tools.
- Ability to comprehend and adhere to inspection procedures for electrical breakers.
- Effective communication skills in both verbal and written English.
- A commitment to safety, effective communication with supervisors and technical staff, sound judgment, and teamwork.
- Resilience in high-pressure situations, adherence to policies, problem-solving abilities, and dedication to tasks.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to multitask independently.
- Frequent standing and walking for up to eight hours, with some tasks allowing for seated work.
- Occasional use of moderate force to handle product stacks and containers.
- Capability to lift boxes and containers weighing between 10-25 lbs, and occasionally up to 6 lbs from the floor.
- Ability to perform visual inspections and utilize inspection tools as required.
