Job Title: Plumbing Superintendent

S.M. Lawrence Company, a leading provider of plumbing services, is seeking an experienced Plumbing Superintendent to oversee commercial construction projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing project needs, including materials, personnel, schedules, and communication with project management, customers, and building officials.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee commercial plumbing construction projects, ensuring timely completion and quality of work.
  • Manage project schedules, materials, and personnel, including foremen, helpers, and general laborers.
  • Coordinate with other trades to complete plumbing scope of work within project schedules.
  • Ensure safe performance of personnel and equipment on job sites.
  • Plan ahead, understanding the flow of the project and communicating with operations or project managers on labor needs.
  • Comply with company tool policies and pass these values to less experienced employees.
  • Install plumbing systems and related materials, operating hand tools and power tools as needed.
  • Operate equipment and machinery to complete plumbing-related tasks.
  • Work from ladders, manlifts, and other equipment at various heights.
  • Perform other related duties or special projects as assigned.
Requirements:
  • 5 years of experience running and managing commercial plumbing construction projects.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience overseeing job site personnel, including foremen and helpers.
  • Experience completing required documentation electronically.
  • Master license in trade in corresponding state preferred.
  • OSHA 30 hour preferred.
Additional Requirements:
  • Must complete company-specific welding, soldering, and/or brazing test for employment.
  • Requires mechanical aptitude, mathematical, and English language skills.
  • Maintain a positive, cooperative, and teachable attitude.
  • Initiative, self-motivated, and self-starter.
  • Comply and promote company Safety Policy.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead a team, including teaching and coaching.
  • Ability to stand, squat, bend, stoop, and comfortably lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Familiarity with blueprint, schematic, drawings, and other equipment layout materials.
  • Ability to pass a full background screening and drug screening.
  • Ability to pass MVR check (if applicable) or must have reliable transportation.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle, if provided.
  • Ability to pass a physical ability test.
  • Ability to travel, as needed, for projects.
