About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our team in the Orthopedic Unit at Ochsner LSU Health System. As a Med/Surg nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and working collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to achieve optimal outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize the Nursing Process to deliver patient care that meets the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Assess learning needs and develop teaching strategies to promote patient understanding and empowerment.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care transitions and coordination.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient information, including medical history, medications, and treatment plans.
Requirements
  • A current RN license in the state of practice is required; BLS certification from the American Heart Association is also mandatory.
  • Preferred qualifications include experience in orthopedic nursing or a related field, as well as certifications in clinical specialties such as wound care or critical care.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills are essential for this role, as is the ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced environment.
