The Cost Accounting Manager will be instrumental in overseeing and enhancing cost-related functions within our organization. This role involves managing and refining cost accounting processes, analyzing financial trends, and executing initiatives aimed at reducing costs while improving efficiency.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee cost management activities across all divisions.
  • Develop and enforce cost accounting policies and procedures to ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Analyze financial data to uncover opportunities for cost savings and operational improvements.
  • Collaborate with various teams to standardize cost allocation methods and reporting formats.
  • Lead the annual standard cost setting process, ensuring thorough collaboration with operations and finance teams.
  • Work with plant managers to establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for operational and financial success.
  • Provide expert guidance on cost accounting issues, including inventory valuation and variance analysis.
  • Monitor manufacturing variances and overhead absorption rates, identifying issues and recommending solutions.
  • Manage fixed asset accounting and prepare depreciation schedules.
  • Partner with supply chain teams to optimize production workflows and reduce costs.
  • Prepare detailed cost reports for senior management, offering insights and recommendations for optimization.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and best practices in cost management.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Four to seven years of experience in cost and financial accounting.
  • Advanced degrees or certifications (MBA, CPA, CMA) are preferred.
  • Strong grasp of cost accounting principles, including standard costing and variance analysis.
  • Proven project management skills with a history of leading cost optimization initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
  • Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Experience with ERP systems and proficiency in financial software tools.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to utilize computer equipment effectively and maintain a flexible work schedule. The role may require standing, walking, and lifting light to moderate weights.
