The University of Miami is seeking a dedicated and skilled Clinical Assistant Professor specializing in Neuro-Anesthesiology. This role is pivotal in our expanding Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative Medicine, and Pain Management.

Department Highlights:

Our department is renowned for its commitment to academic excellence and superior medical care. We are one of the largest private employers in the region, boasting a diverse team of over 16,000 faculty and staff.

Clinical Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will provide comprehensive perioperative care to patients undergoing both elective and emergency neurosurgical and neuro-interventional procedures. Our facilities include the University Miami Hospital, Jackson Memorial Hospital, and Ryder Trauma Center, where we perform a significant volume of spine, neurological, and neuro-interventional procedures annually.

Qualifications:

Applicants must have completed a US-approved residency in Anesthesiology, along with a minimum of one year of fellowship training in Neuro-Anesthesiology or equivalent qualifications. Board eligibility or certification in Anesthesiology is mandatory.

Academic Engagement:

While research experience is not a prerequisite, it is highly valued. The role involves engaging in clinical and basic research, as well as medical education. Candidates should be comfortable supervising residents, fellows, and other trainees, and may be required to perform independent cases.

Teaching Responsibilities:

Key duties include:

  • Instructing residents, fellows, and medical students.
  • Participating in departmental academic activities, including conferences and faculty meetings.
  • Contributing to the overall educational mission of the department.

Compensation:

Compensation will be determined based on experience and the professorial rank at the time of hiring.
