Clinical Assistant Professor in Anesthesiology

The Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative Medicine, and Pain Management at the University of Miami Health System is undergoing significant growth and is in search of outstanding candidates to enhance our faculty. Employment Criteria:
- Candidates must have completed a residency in Anesthesiology accredited in the U.S. or possess equivalent training and certification.
- Board Eligibility or Certification in Anesthesiology is mandatory for this role. (Equivalence to board certification will be evaluated individually).
- While prior research experience is not a prerequisite for application, it is highly valued.
Position Overview:
- Generalists should be adept at managing a diverse range of cases, including orthopedic, gynecological, community obstetrics, abdominal surgeries, general vascular procedures, and kidney transplants. Cardiac cases and treatment of infants under two years of age are not required.
- Candidates should be comfortable overseeing residents, CRNAs, and SRNAs.
- Independent case management is expected when necessary.
- Participation in the department's academic endeavors, including teaching, mentoring trainees, and engaging in departmental conferences and faculty meetings, is essential.
- On-call duties are anticipated to be 3-4 overnight shifts per month, with some calls potentially from home. Evening and weekend on-call responsibilities may also arise.
- The distribution of responsibilities may be adjusted based on departmental requirements, individual interests, and success in securing external grant funding.
Compensation Details:
- Salary will be determined based on years of experience and the assessment of academic rank at the time of hiring.
