We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Reprocessing Specialist to join our team at Ascension. As a key member of our Sterile Processing department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe handling and proper sterilization of medical instruments and equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Disassemble and decontaminate instruments and equipment to ensure safe handling and proper sterilization.
- Assemble all instruments and implants according to prescribed hospital procedures and techniques.
- Sterilize/disinfect instruments, equipment, linen and supplies using various methods of sterilization/high level disinfection.
- Provide various departments with additional assistance related to STAT case carts, intubation boxes, PAPR, Wound Vacs, etc.
- Assigned to a variety of duties and functions in all designated positions in the Main Reprocessing department, SDS Reprocessing and GI Reprocessing.
- Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- One or more of the following is required:
- Certified Central Service Tech credentialed from the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM) obtained within 18 Months (1 1⁄2 years) of hire date or job transfer date.
- Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Tech Certification by the Certification Board For Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) obtained within 18 months (1 1⁄2 years) of hire date or job transfer date.
- One or more of the following is required:
- Education:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) required.
- Previous C.S. experience preferred.
