Job Summary

Sundt is seeking committed engineering and construction management students to join our internship program. This program provides unique experiences on challenging projects throughout the US, allowing students to participate in various activities essential to successfully building our projects. We are looking for future leaders who are inspired to go beyond the expected and make a meaningful contribution to our company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with project record keeping, preparing shop drawings, and cost control records.
  • Prepare reports, conduct safety inspections, and process submittals.
  • Assist with surveying, testing, sample collection, drawing correction, and filing.
  • Assist with time keeping, cost control, inventory control, schedule checking, and subcontractor monitoring.
  • Attend bid openings, conferences, and site tours, taking notes and making records.
  • Observe and report results of meetings and conduct site tours for visitors.
  • Prepare quantity take-offs, call vendors and subcontractors for proposals, and work as a manual laborer or technician assistant.
Minimum Job Requirements
  • Be a team player, ready to take on challenges and learn from experiences.
  • Be currently enrolled in a four-year Construction Management or Engineering program.
  • Be eager to learn, curious, and willing to get hands-on experience.
  • Have an interest in a construction career with a builder.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite programs.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment, including steel-toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat, vest, etc.
  • May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis.
  • May stoop, kneel, or bend on an occasional basis.
  • May use electronic devices to communicate with internal and external customers or vendors.
  • Must comply with all safety standards and procedures.
  • Occasionally climb stairs, ladders, etc.
  • Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry, or feel objects on a frequent basis.
  • Will interact with people frequently during a shift or workday.
  • Will lift, push, or pull objects on an occasional basis.
  • Will sit, stand, or walk short distances for up to the entire duration of a shift or workday.
