Mammography Technologist Job Summary

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $29.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform mammography procedures under the direction of a physician, following established standards of medical care.
  • Exhibit technical competence and function as a patient advocate.
  • Ensure patient medical records are complete and accurate.
  • Position patients for optimal views and make them as comfortable as possible.
  • Produce high-quality mammographic images and analyze technical quality.
  • Participate in departmental quality control and maintain knowledge of radiographic equipment operation and radiation safety.
  • Perform special procedures, including stereotactic core biopsy, in conjunction with the radiologist.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in applied radiologic science or certification from an accredited radiologic technology program.
  • One to two years of related experience.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification.
  • Registered Mammography Technologist (ARRT-M) certification.
  • Nebraska State Certified Radiologic Technologist.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

  • Detailed knowledge of radiographic equipment operation and radiation safety.
  • Ability to contribute as a team member and promote cooperation, collaboration, and flexibility.
  • Ability to take initiative, be self-motivated, and an independent, accountable, dependable performer.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to express ideas and technical information clearly.
  • Ability to interact and communicate calmly, compassionately, and professionally with patients and families.
