About the Role

We are seeking an Electrical Project Engineer to join our team at the Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine.

Job Summary

This is a unique opportunity to work on exciting projects that support client facilities organization, with a focus on electrical systems planning, design, and construction.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate Preliminary Construction Documents: Review construction documents for accuracy and conformity to standards and regulations.
  • Technical Consultancy: Serve as the Facilities Department's technical consultant concerning electrical aspects of energy conservation and new construction and repair projects, including investigation, criteria, design, construction, implementation, and fuel utilization.
  • Construction Administration and Field Investigation: Perform construction administration and field investigation tasks for assigned projects, including conducting field inspections and subsequent detailed inspection reports.
  • Scope of Work and Cost Estimate Development: Develop the Scope of Work and Construction Cost Estimate.
  • Technical Advice and Assistance: Provide technical advice and assistance to the Sustainment and Asset Management Division (SAD) on technical problems encountered during operation and maintenance activities.
Qualifications and Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a strongly related field of study, with a minimum of 6-8 years of experience. Alternatively, a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a strongly related field of study, with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience, may also be considered.

You should have a strong understanding of National Electrical Code and electrical equipment standards, as well as experience with construction and design on electrical systems for facilities in the United States. Proficient computer and software skills, including knowledge of Windows, MS Office Suite, and AutoCAD, are also essential.

In addition, you should be able to lead, learn, and work in a fast-paced environment under limited supervision, and be capable of working as part of a team to meet deadlines. Effective oral and written communication skills are also required.

Estimated Salary

The estimated salary for this position is between $120,000 and $180,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
