Job Summary

Villa at Traverse Point is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver to join our team. As a Caregiver, you will provide personalized care and support to our elderly patients or those recovering from surgeries, injuries, or accidents.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and eating
  • Remind clients to take prescribed medication and assist with ambulation
  • Help with mobility around the house or outside, including doctor's appointments and walks
  • Assist with personal care and hygiene, plan and prepare meals, and help with physical therapy exercises
  • Complete client shopping or accompany them to successfully do so
  • Perform housekeeping duties and report any unusual incidents
  • Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
  • Offer activities essential for daily living, including assisting patients with meals, serving, and other tasks as needed
Qualifications
  • Enjoy working in a one-on-one setting and eager to improve and continuously learn new skills
  • Ability to perform all essential job functions with or without accommodations
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation every single day
  • Validated ability to act in a compassionate and supportive manner
  • Available to work different shifts, including nights and/or weekends
  • Prior experience in a healthcare, hospitality, or in-home care environment (minimum of 1 year)
  • Willingness to enforce health and safety standards
  • Supportive and compassionate
  • High School Diploma or equivalent/Experience as a Caregiver
  • Take pride in providing high-quality care
  • Hoyer Lift Experience (specific to client)
Safety

Our Caregiver will be responsible for:

  • Knowing and following facility rules
  • Demonstrating proper use of equipment and reporting equipment needs or repairs
  • Following facility smoking policies
  • Reporting and documenting any incidents or accidents of residents, staff, or visitors to the appropriate facility personnel
  • Reporting all hazardous conditions/equipment to Supervisor
  • Performing duties, including transportation of residents, as assigned in Facility Disaster Plan
  • Using required protective equipment
  • Following infection control standards, policies, and procedures
Resident Rights

Our Caregiver will:

  • Know Resident Rights and help residents/patients exercise and/or protect their rights
  • Report resident/patient complaints to management
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident/patient information
  • Follow and adhere to Villa's policies and procedures implementing HIPAA requirements for the privacy and security of protected health information
Requirements

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Ability to manage and supervise nursing staff
  • Ability to make independent decisions
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Meets all health requirements, as required by law
  • Ability to relate positively, effectively, and appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers, and other facility staff
  • Demonstrates basic computer knowledge and ability with an aptitude to learn company applications
Education and Experience

Our Caregiver will have:

  • High school degree or equivalency required
Environmental and Physical Requirements

Our Caregiver will be required to:

  • Walk, reach, bend, lift, extended sitting, grasp, fine hand coordination, push, and pull, with or without the aid of mechanical devices
  • Meet all health requirements as needed
