Job Overview:
A Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides essential support to patients and residents, addressing their individualized health care needs under the guidance of a licensed nurse. The role involves assisting patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, grooming, toileting, and exercising. Additionally, CNAs play a vital role in facilitating the safe transfer of residents to and from various activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with personal hygiene and daily activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
- Support patients in managing their medications and supplements.
- Reposition and turn bedridden patients to ensure comfort and prevent complications.
- Monitor and maintain dietary restrictions for residents.
- Record and track food and liquid intake.
- Inspect patients for any signs of wounds, bruises, or unusual symptoms.
- Communicate observations regarding patient behavior and mood changes.
- Prepare and gather necessary medical supplies.
- Maintain cleanliness of patient rooms and linens.
- Measure and document vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rate under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
- Respond promptly to patient calls and needs.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- State Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Certification.
