Certified Medication Technician

Job Summary
Primrose Retirement Communities is seeking a Certified Medication Technician to administer routine medications to residents in accordance with state regulations and company policy. The Medication Technician will provide care to residents, which may include personal hygiene, dressing, housekeeping, laundry, social-recreational activities, meal services, and other duties as assigned within the community.
Responsibilities
- Administer routine medications to residents in accordance with state regulations and company policy
- Provide care to residents, including personal hygiene, dressing, housekeeping, laundry, social-recreational activities, meal services, and other duties as assigned
- Collaborate with the nursing department, other departments, medical professionals, consultants, residents, and families to provide efficient and economic care
- Maintain accurate records of medication administration and resident care
Requirements
- Current certification as a Medication Technician or Assistant or Qualified Medication Administration Person per state regulations
- Maintain CPR/First Aid certification per state regulations
- Attend in-service training as assigned and maintain continuing education hours if required for certification of position
- Strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to prioritize responsibilities
- Knowledge of Alzheimer's Disease, other dementias, and related memory impairments is preferred
- Demonstrates abilities to work as a team
- Basic knowledge of computer software and programs
- Able to work varying hours and weekends and holidays on a rotating basis
