Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Exterior Vehicle Concept Transportation Designer to join our dynamic and innovative design team at Polaris Inc. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for creating cutting-edge exterior designs for our advanced and production vehicles, as well as other mobility products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create unique and innovative exterior designs for our vehicles and mobility products through sketches and digital tools
  • Interpret industry trends and insights into actionable storytelling and design solutions
  • Collaborate with product planners to understand customer needs and develop desirable portfolio solutions
  • Work closely with the design team, sculpting organization, engineering, and fabrication teams to develop new designs
  • Have a big-picture perspective on customer needs and future transportation scenarios, and create provocative concepts and designs using insights and research
  • Provide insight and recommendations to leadership while being open to guidance and direction
  • Maintain knowledge of current design trends and technology, and present ideas to management and leadership
  • Work with architectural engineers, UX, and HFE teams to create new platforms and vehicle architectures with a design voice
  • Exhibit passion, courage, and a willingness to challenge expectations and explore the future
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Design (Automotive, Transportation, Industrial Design)
  • 6+ years of professional experience in a design-related field, preferably in automotive, transportation, or powersports
  • Strong understanding of form and excellent drawing skills
  • Great communication and storytelling skills
  • Proven creative proficiency
  • Demonstrated ability with electronic tools to communicate 2D ideations
  • Ability to work independently and within a team, and provide mentoring to others
