Physician - Optometrist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Optometrist to join our team at Ochsner Health System. As a Board Certified/Board Eligible Optometrist, you will be responsible for managing medical and peri-operative patients in a unique co-management arrangement within the Department of Ophthalmology at Ochsner Medical Center.

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and manage conditions such as keratoconus, Fuch's Dystrophy, ocular inflammatory and infectious conditions in the acute and chronic stages.
• Assist in the preoperative assessment and long-term post-operative care of LASIK, cataract, Crosslinking, and corneal transplant patients.
• Fitting specialty contact lenses for keratoconus and post-PKP patients and managing medication prescriptions.

Requirements:

• Board Certification/Board Eligibility in Optometry.
• Strong desire to acquire a depth of knowledge related to the medical management of anterior segment pathology.
• Ability to work well in a team environment and in a co-management relationship with MDs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
