Job Summary:

Under the guidance of a physician, the Athletic Trainer at The Orthopedic Hospital develops and implements therapies to reduce pain and improve mobility in athletes. This role involves creating injury prevention programs, providing emergency care for injuries, and educating patients on rehabilitation techniques for assigned athletic organizations.

The ideal candidate will assist in exercise instruction and demonstration, patient evaluation and testing, and rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. This position requires a high degree of creativity and latitude, working under the general supervision of a manager or head of a unit/department.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement injury prevention programs for assigned athletic organizations
  • Provide emergency care for injuries and educate patients on rehabilitation techniques
  • Assist in exercise instruction and demonstration, patient evaluation and testing
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • Works under the general supervision of a manager or head of a unit/department
Requirements:
  • Certification from the Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer
  • Indiana Athletic Trainers Board License
  • CPR certification within 30 days of hire
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Previous experience as an athletic trainer with high school or professional sports organizations is a plus
