We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Systems Design Engineer to join our team at Stryker. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical components and sub-systems for medical devices.

Your expertise in electrical engineering will be crucial in mentoring and developing junior team members, refining your skills through complex projects, and playing a pivotal role in bringing groundbreaking products to market.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and applying advanced circuit and electrical system test methods
  • Conducting or designing advanced prototyping and testing
  • Conducting and designing research and studies to support advanced product design
  • Translating user needs to design inputs/specifications and producing advanced component and sub-system level designs
  • Analyzing and correcting complex product design issues, using independent judgment
  • Independently balancing design tradeoffs while designing a component of the system
  • Applying detailed knowledge of clinical procedures to author design inputs
  • Demonstrating developing financial acumen
  • Being proficient with and mentoring others in usage of industry standards, including design requirements and test strategies per applicable regulations
  • Leading creation and refinement of engineering documentation, such as the Design History file
  • Following and mentoring others on R&D procedures like design controls and risk management, per the Quality Management System
  • Working cooperatively with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Clinical, Marketing and Project Management to ensure project success as a leader on the team
  • Identifying and supporting the creation of or improvements to procedures, policies, processes, systems, and technology
  • Supporting and executing segments of complex product development to advance projects through the design /development/launch process
  • Building relationships and influencing across the engineering groups within the business

Requirements include:

  • A Bachelor's degree in EE or related discipline
  • 4+ years of work experience
  • Advanced understanding of electrical components and manufacturing methods including common failure modes
