Job Summary

The Mechanical Assembler II performs critical tasks in the assembly of electro-mechanical components, ensuring accuracy and quality in the build process. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical assembly, cabling, and electrical systems, as well as the ability to work from technical instructions and drawings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble and integrate electro-mechanical components, including sub-assemblies and higher-level assemblies, according to written instructions and drawings.
  • Operate power and hand tools, including screwdrivers, torque wrenches, and other specialized tools, to assemble and repair electro-mechanical products.
  • Display a strong understanding of mechanical assembly, cabling, and electrical systems, and apply this knowledge to perform routine and complex tasks.
  • Troubleshoot electro-mechanical failure modes, working with internal customers and suppliers to identify root cause analysis and corrective action.
  • Use test equipment to validate product quality and reliability, and commit to continuous improvement in processes and products.
  • Complete and pass IPC certifications for the latest revision of J and 620 standards, and assist in on-the-job training efforts for lower-level assemblers.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • 2+ years' experience in mechanical assembling, cabling, and proven proficiency in mechanical assembly/rework experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Able to read, comprehend, and work from written work instructions and drawings technical in nature.
  • Able to perform a variety of operations to assemble/rework/modify electronic and electro-mechanical products and repair, using hand tools and ESD monitoring system.

Physical Demands

The work environment is frequently performed in a climate-controlled environment and occasionally in a non-climate-controlled setting. The employee may be exposed to the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is considered low to moderate in the manufacturing area and moderate / loud in the trailer storage area.
