Job Summary

Carle Foundation Hospital is seeking a skilled Healthcare Technician to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide direct patient care and support to our patients and families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the maintenance of unit supplies and ensure the smooth function of the unit.
  • Collect data on assigned patients and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Perform or assist patients with activities of daily living, including vital sign measurement, blood glucose monitoring, and intake and output recording.
  • Float to various inpatient units to provide direct patient care, including vital sign taking, accuchecks, specimen collection, and personal hygiene.
  • Remove patient peripheral IV lines, foley catheters, and a-lines as needed.
  • Keep patients safe by providing 1:1 direct patient care as a bedside sitter.
  • Manage the Video Remote Sitter by monitoring patients who are in the VRS camera to keep them safe from falls, removing lines and drains, elopement, and similar situations.

Requirements:

  • HS Diploma/GED
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Completion of CNA coursework within the past 24 months, or successful completion of Carle's HCT In Training Program, or work experience as a CNA within the past 24 months, or successful completion of at least one semester of nursing clinical experiences, or documented relevant medical military training
