Work Schedule:
Full-Time Shift: Monday to Friday, from 2 PM to 10:30 PM, with rotating weekends.

Role Overview:
As a Medical Laboratory Scientist II, you will perform a variety of laboratory tests on blood and other biological specimens. This role requires a strong theoretical and practical understanding of laboratory processes. You will also engage in pre-analytical and post-analytical tasks, ensuring compliance with laboratory policies and maintaining quality control standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct pre-analytical activities, including equipment maintenance, inventory management, and specimen processing.
  • Execute laboratory tests and procedures accurately and efficiently, adhering to established protocols.
  • Report results, including critical findings, and provide technical support related to laboratory testing.
  • Assist in training new staff and students, documenting their progress and competencies.
  • Support technicians and staff in resolving customer service issues and enhancing workflow.
  • Follow safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment and hazardous material handling.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives within the laboratory.
  • Engage in the evaluation of new laboratory techniques and assist with data collection for special projects.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Technical expertise in laboratory testing and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and laboratory information systems.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or related fields.
  • Minimum of two years of relevant technical experience.

Licensure and Certification:
  • Certification from recognized bodies such as American Medical Technologists or American Society for Clinical Pathology.
  • State licensure as required for the specific department.
