Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated attorney to join our Children's Law Unit. This role involves representing minors who have experienced or are at risk of abuse, neglect, or abandonment, as well as their non-offending parents in family law cases. The attorney will also advocate for children currently in the foster care system. Responsibilities include providing legal counsel, brief services, and extended representation.

In addition to direct legal representation, the attorney will be responsible for:

  • Conducting client training and community education initiatives.
  • Performing intake and outreach activities.
  • Representing clients in administrative and judicial settings.
  • Engaging in bar association activities and special legal projects.

Qualifications Required

  • Active member of the Florida Bar Association.
  • Experience working with low-income individuals, crime victims, veterans, or marginalized communities is preferred.
  • Demonstrated understanding and sensitivity to the needs of the populations served.
  • Ability to manage a substantial caseload while maintaining professionalism in a high-pressure environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Capability to work independently and collaboratively with a team, including attorneys, support staff, volunteers, and community partners.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with others.
  • Proficiency in multiple languages is an advantage.
