Job Summary

The Medical Physicist role at Corewell Health involves a diverse range of responsibilities within Diagnostic Radiology, including equipment evaluation, quality assurance, education, regulation, radiation safety, research, and development. Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and test imaging equipment to ensure optimal image quality, patient safety, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and oversee quality assurance programs, including those required by law, to ensure diagnostic accuracy and patient safety.
  • Provide education and training to medical staff, residents, and radiation technologists on imaging technology, safety, and quality assurance.
  • Stay up-to-date with developments in imaging technology and implement innovative solutions to improve patient care.
  • Represent Corewell Health on state and national committees, drafting guidance documents and attending professional conferences to maintain expertise and network with other physicists.
  • Act as the Radiation Safety Officer, ensuring compliance with radiation safety regulations and providing training to staff.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Physics, Medical Physics, or a related field.
  • 2 years of relevant professional experience, with 1 year of full-time radiation safety experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of NRC, State, FDA, FAA, and DOT regulations for radiation safety.
  • CRT-Medical Physics certification from the American Board of Radiology or American Board of Medical Physics.
Work Environment
