Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Paramedic to join our team at the Cardiovascular Institute of San Diego. As a Paramedic for our Nuclear Medicine department, you will play a critical role in assisting our Nuclear Medicine Technologist with cardiac stress testing procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for stress testing procedures, including patient interviews, medical history, and obtaining patient consent.
  • Assess patients' vital signs and establish Peripheral Intravenous (IV) access.
  • Set up and monitor patients through 12-lead EKG stress testing, including application of EKG monitor pads and leads.
  • Identify EKG rhythms and interpretation.
  • Prepare pharmacological stress agents, dose calculation, and administration.
  • Under the direct supervision of the on-site physician, apply ACLS algorithms if patients experience heart problems or cardiac arrest during procedure.
  • Complete daily paperwork, including obtaining physician signature, photocopying, and faxing.
Requirements
  • Active California Paramedic License or Credentialed by CCI (CCT) required.
  • ACLS Certified.
  • A minimum of one year of experience as a paramedic.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Practice Management Systems preferred.
  • Ability to work well with others in a professional manner in a team-oriented environment.
  • Travel.
  • Valid California Driver License.
