Job Overview

POSITION TITLE: Yard Maintenance Laborer

SUPERVISOR: Yard Maintenance Manager and Assistant Yard Maintenance Manager

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Hourly, Agricultural exempt

ROLE: Assists in various upkeep and repair tasks within the feedlot environment. Engages in the following responsibilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identifies and prioritizes essential repairs through effective communication with management and assessment of job requests.
  • Conducts repairs on cable and bunk lines; may assist in the cleaning and maintenance of water tanks.
  • Enhances facility aesthetics by painting or repainting gates, pipe fences, and pens, performing landscaping duties, and working in the maintenance shop.
  • May engage in yard construction, renovation, and replacement initiatives.
  • Adheres to all relevant safety regulations and policies.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety guidelines, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
  • Capability to understand a variety of instructions provided in written, oral, diagrammatic, or scheduled formats.

Expected to utilize organizational resources wisely, demonstrate knowledge of company policies, adapt to changes in the work environment, exhibit sound judgment, observe safety and security protocols, and report any potentially hazardous conditions.

While executing the duties of this role, the employee is regularly exposed to airborne particles. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical equipment and outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is typically loud.
