Job Summary

As a Senior Banquet Chef, you will be responsible for leading the banquet food preparation team and managing all food-related catering functions. Your primary goal will be to deliver a consistent, high-quality product with an appetizing presentation, while ensuring sanitation and food standards are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of cooks and workers engaged in food preparation for property banquets and events.
  • Utilize interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others; advocate sound financial/business decision making; demonstrate honesty/integrity; lead by example.
  • Supervise and manage employees, ensuring the productivity level of employees and maintaining open, collaborative relationships with employees.
  • Establish and maintain culinary standards and responsibilities for banquet events, including estimating daily production needs, coordinating production and plating, and ensuring compliance with all Food & Beverage policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Develop and manage banquet, seasonal, and specialty menus for catering customers, ensuring that all food preparation handling and correct storage standards are met.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, managing day-to-day operations, and improving service performance.
  • Set and support achievement of goals, including performance goals, budget goals, team goals, etc.
  • Identify the developmental needs of others and coach, mentor, or otherwise help others to improve their knowledge or skills.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED; 4 years experience in the culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area.
  • OR 2-year degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; 2 years experience in the culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area.
